If your child requires sedation for dental treatment, there are a several options available at the office.  The staff and doctors carefully consider age, patient cooperation, any special needs, and total treatment expectations prior to suggesting a sedation modality.   It is important that parents understand the advantages and limitations of any choosing sedation option.

“Laughing gas” or nitrous oxide is an inhaled air that is very useful to calm anxious, school-aged children.  “Oral conscious sedation” utilizes a liquid medication to lightly sedate young children.  “IV sedation” will allow children to be completely asleep during their dental procedures.  The doctors and staff can evaluate these available options at a consultation appointment.
